CIMB has announced that that its long-standing Clicks app will finally be shut down on 12 April. This comes after the bank announced last year that it would gradually wind down the mobile app as it will be fully transitioning to the newer OCTO app.
Over the span of several months, CIMB has been discontinuing critical services on the Clicks app one at a time, in order to encourage existing users to transition. As of now, users can no longer transfer funds, pay loans, pay their cards, or pay their bills. The app also no longer supports DuitNow QR payments, foreign transfer services, prepaid top-ups, or deposit placements and withdrawals.
The Clicks mobile banking platform, first launched in 2008, will be replaced by the OCTO app, which features all the familiar key features in addition to increased security. It supports Quick Payment, Biometric ID login, Quick Balance, and more.
The newer features of the app include combined scheduled transactions for users with multiple IDs, EPF transfer, ASB financing, and Lock Clicks ID. It can be downloaded through the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store, and the Huawei AppGallery.
