Alongside the Ultra variant, Xiaomi today has also introduced the global release of the base Xiaomi 15 model during its special launch event in Barcelona, Spain. Featuring Leica Summilux lenses and the latest Xiaomi HyperOS 2, the smartphone offers high-end photography, efficient performance and a refined user experience.
The Xiaomi 15 boasts a compact yet sophisticated design, available in three colours: Black, Blue, and White. The lightweight body enhances ergonomics, while durability features include Xiaomi Shield Glass and IP68 water and dust resistance.
The device features a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2670 x 1200 px, a pixel density of 460 ppi, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It also supports an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance and incorporates an in-display fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking.
The base model is also powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip as the Ultra, and comes with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage. This variant also comes with a 5,240mAh with 90W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge support.
Xiaomi HyperOS 2 enhances system smoothness, device connectivity, and AI capabilities. Google Gemini AI integration brings advanced productivity tools, including AI-assisted writing, speech recognition, and image processing. AI-powered photo editing tools such as AI Eraser Pro and AI Reflection Removal offer users greater creative flexibility. Like the Ultra, Xiaomi is offering four years support for Android, and five years security for the base model.
Equipped with a Leica Summilux triple-camera setup, the Xiaomi 15 features a 50MP main camera with a large ƒ/1.6 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), optimised for low-light conditions and dynamic scenes. A 50MP telephoto camera with a 2.6x optical zoom enables high-quality portrait shots and distant captures, whereas a third 50MP sensor provides ultra-wide capabilities. Meanwhile, the front-facing 32MP camera supports AI-enhanced selfies and high-resolution video calls.
Xiaomi’s computational photography enhancements further refine image processing, delivering improved colour accuracy and dynamic range. Leica colour science is integrated, offering Leica Authentic and Leica Vibrant modes for personalised imaging styles.

The Xiaomi 15 is available in Black, Blue and White, priced at RM 3,499 for 12GB+256GB configuration (online only) and RM3,699 for the 12GB + 512GB. Meanwhile, a special Liquid Silver Edition (12GB +512GB) is also available at RM3,699 and is offered exclusively via mi.com, as well as Xiaomi’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee. Pre-orders for the phone are available now in Malaysia until 7 March 2025.
