Les’ Copaque Production Sdn Bhd has partnered with Streamline Studios to develop and publish “Upin & Ipin Universe”, the first open-world console and PC game based on the former’s popular animation series of the same name. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game promises a visually stunning and immersive experience, bringing the charm of the animated series to a global gaming audience.
According to Streamline Studios, the game is set in an open world inspired by Kampung Durian Runtuh, the home of Upin and Ipin. It aims to capture the essence of Southeast Asian village life, reflecting the traditions and community spirit that define the series.
Players can explore a vibrant environment filled with cultural elements, engaging quests, and activities that seamlessly integrate into the world. The company adds that the game also introduces an original storyline, adding depth to the Upin & Ipin universe while staying true to its core themes of family, friendship and adventure.
Haji Burhanuddin Md Radzi, Managing Director of Les’ Copaque Production, highlighted that the project allows fans to experience the world of Upin & Ipin in an entirely new way. Alexander Fernandez, CEO of Streamline Studios, described it as an opportunity to bring Southeast Asian storytelling to the global gaming stage.
The official website of Upin & Ipin Universe is now live, allowing fans to access exclusive concept art, development updates and upcoming reveals. The game is scheduled for release this year on PC and video game consoles, though specific platforms for the latter have not been confirmed.
