Tesla has officially launched its 2025 Model Y “Juniper” facelift in Malaysia today. Both the Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range All-Wheel Drive models are now on display at Pavilion Damansara until 2 March 2025.

As you may recall, the Model Y Juniper itself is already available for pre-order via the company’s website since January this year, with prices starting from RM194,450 for the RWD and from RM242,450 for the AWD. Much like other models from Tesla, you can choose to equip either variant of the EV with paid add-ons, including an all-white interior for RM5,000, Enhanced Autopilot for RM16,000, Full Self Driving (FSD) for RM32,000 and many others.

The updated Tesla Model Y Juniper introduces a refreshed design, featuring a cross-car lightbar at the front and a Cybertruck-inspired rear tailgate with an integrated lightbar. Aerodynamic improvements, such as newly designed wheels and a rear diffuser, contribute to better lift balance, stability and efficiency at high speeds.

Inside, the Model Y Juniper gains a redesigned charging console, silver-accented floor mats, and an all-black vegan suede trim for a more premium feel. Double-layer glass windows and a panoramic silver-coated glass roof help reduce heat and UV exposure while improving cabin quietness.

The interior also features a larger 15.4-inch infotainment display, customisable ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and an eight-inch rear touchscreen. Notably, the new model reintroduces a conventional indicator stalk, replacing the previous steering wheel-mounted controls, though other function buttons remain on the wheel. Gear selection continues to be managed via the screen rather than a column stalk.

Tesla did not disclose battery specifications for the Model Y Juniper facelift but claims the RWD variant accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds with Acceleration Boost and offers a WLTP-rated range of up to 466 km. Meanwhile, the LR AWD version completes the same sprint in 4.3 seconds and has a maximum range of 551 km. Both versions are electronically limited to a top speed of 203 km/h.

During the launch, the company reveals that the EV has already entered production, with deliveries expected later in April this year.
