Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim May Be Less Than 7mm Thick

Way thinner than even the base Galaxy S24.

Back in November, we reported on a rumour that Samsung could be gearing up to launch a Galaxy S25 Slim variant of the series, with an expected launch for the device to take place some time after the launch of the next generation series. Now we have some inkling as to just how thin the device might actually be.

As per reliable leakster Ice Universe and their post on Weibo, the thickness of the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected less than 7mm. Specifically, it will be around “6.x mm” thick. To put that into context, the thinnest Galaxy S24 device is the base model, which has a thickness of 7.6mm.

Sadly, Ice Universe’s rumour doesn’t provide any further detail, which is understandable, given how scarce information about the S25 Slim currently is. That being said, Samsung isn’t the only smartphone maker gunning for the thinnest phone award – Apple is reportedly planning on releasing an iPhone 17 model with a thickness between 5mm and 6mm.

Of course, there are questions as to what the trade-offs of striving for such a thin form factor would be. That includes a compromise on the battery life, main camera, and other features that may or may not make it on the Galaxy S25 Slim. Guess we’ll just have to wait until next year to find out.
