CelcomDigi has put up a notice on its website concerning a scheduled upgrade for Digi’s systems. It is revealed that the process is set to take place next week from 9pm on 14 October to 9am on 15 October 2024. Throughout this duration, the telco says essential services such as voice calls, texts and internet access will not be disrupted, but certain services and channels will be temporarily unavailable.
According to its Help page, affected channels will include the MyDigi app, the Digi website, the Digi online store, the business portal, and Digi kiosks. Meanwhile, services related to new registrations, plan changes, and select value-added services such as purchasing extra data, mobile app purchases, and roaming passes will also be impacted.
It should also be noted that the scheduled downtime will affect billing and payment services, with prepaid reloads at convenience stores unavailable during the upgrade. Furthermore, requests for one-time passwords (OTP) and transaction authorisation codes (TAC) will not be processed. CelcomDigi is advising customers to complete all necessary transactions such as payments and reloads in advance of the upgrade.
For Fibre and 5G Home Wifi users, the telco urges not to restart or reset your routers from 9pm on 14 October to 11.59pm on 16 October to ensure uninterrupted service. CelcomDigi also emphasised that the scheduled upgrade only applies to Digi’s systems, whereas all services under Celcom remain available as usual.
