Shokz (formerly AfterShokz) today has released its latest audio product, the OpenFit Air, for the Malaysian market. It is the successor to its OpenFit model from last year, offering the brand’s signature open-ear design and audio delivery.
Design-wise, the OpenFit Air features an ergonomic ear hook that sits snugly behind your ear, while its light weight of 8.7g ensures all-day comfort. Like most open-ear headphones, the earpieces on each side of the device are positioned in front of your ears, allowing for external sound to pass through – granting situational awareness.
Fully covered in matte silicon material, the OpenFit Air comes with an IP54 water/dust resistance rating. In terms of colour options, it is offered in black, white, and pink.
Internally are 18 x 11mm composite dynamic driver units on each side that promises rich and precise audio delivery. Complementing this is Shokz’ OpenBass Air and proprietary low-frequency enhancement algorithm, which ensures deep bass during music playback. Besides that, there are also four onboard microphones to accurately track the user’s voice for calls.
Other features include touch-based controls, multipoint pairing, and 10-metre Bluetooth 5.2 range. Shokz says the headphones are capable of lasting up to six hours on a single charge, which can be extended further to 28 hours when used together with the included charging case. Additionally, it is claimed that a quick 10-minute charge via the latter can grant up to 2 hours of listening time.
