Honda Malaysia has finally revealed the pricing for the 2024 CR-V e:HEV RS, the hybrid variant of its sixth-generation SUV line-up that debuted locally in December of last year. As mentioned in our report from then, this particular model features different specifications and kit, which sets it apart from its three siblings.
To recap, the 2024 CR-V e:HEV RS comes with roof rails, black-coloured side mirror covers and an active shutter grille. These are featured on top of the LED auto headlights, LED daytime running lights, front LED sequential turn signals and LED rear combination lights, which are available as standard across all variants. Regardless of model, Honda’s current-generation SUV measures at 4,691mm long, 1,866mm wide and 1,681mm tall, while its wheelbase is at 2,700mm.
On the inside, the car features a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, heads-up display, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium audio system – an exclusive to 2024 CR-V variant. Additionally, it has aluminium silver accent inserts, with gloss black and red stitching on the upholstery, steering wheel, gear shift lever cover and door cards.
The e:HEV RS model is powered by an Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) system similar to the Civic e:HEV RS, combining the workings of an electric motor and petrol engine. Under its hood is a 2.0L naturally-aspirated Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, which also functions as a generator for the onboard e-motor.
Performance-wise, the engine offers 146hp and 190Nm of torque, while the electric motor generates 181hp (135kW) and 335Nm. According to Honda, the hybrid 2024 CR-V takes only 9.0 seconds to go from nought to 100, and has a top speed of 187 km/h.
In terms of safety features, onboard is a 90-degree field of view camera, 120-degree field of view millimetre-wave radar, adaptive cruise, and lane keeping assist systems. Like its siblings, this model also comes with Honda Connect support, offering car owners access to a variety of functions via a dedicated smartphone app that’s available on iOS and Android devices.
The 2024 Honda CR-V e:HEV RS is priced at RM195,900 on-the-road without insurance. For your reference, the 1.5L Turbo S model retails at RM159,900, the 1.5L Turbo E at RM169,900, and the 1.5L Turbo V AWD at RM181,900.
