Alleged Intel Core i7-14700K Benchmarks Leak

Virtually on par with an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X.

New performance and benchmark leaks allegedly taken from the yet unreleased Intel Core i7-14700K have made their way on to the internet. The leaked performance metrics were posted by the Russia-based leakster Алексей, otherwise known by their Twitter handle @wxnod.

As a quick crash course, the Core i7-14700K is part of Intel’s upcoming 14th Gen lineup, but it is not Meteor Lake. It will be part of the Raptor Lake Refresh, and it still bears the “i” moniker that the chipmaker said it will be dropping right and proper with Meteor Lake. CPUs released under those names will simply be referred to as Core or Core Ultra.

Getting back on track, the prowess of the Core i7-14700K is portrayed, in this case, by the benchmark Cinebench R23. You can see both the multi-core and single-core performance of the CPU behind a wall of the usual monitor apps, of which it scored 36,296 points on the multi-core test and 2,192 points in the single-core test. Those speeds technically put the processor on par with AMD’s current king-of-the-hill, the Ryzen 9 7950X. In our review of the Ryzen 7000 Series powerhouse, that CPU managed scored 37,773 points on the multi-core test and 1,984 points on the single-core test.

As a point of fact, the Core i7-14700K and Cinebench R23’s performance puts it squarely ahead of most of its predecessor’s and rival’s own offerings, except for the current Raptor Lake powerhouse, the Core i9-13900K. That CPU still holds the championship belt with a score of more than 40,000 points on the same benchmark’s multi-core test.

One of the reasons that the Core i7-14700K is so much faster than even the 7950X or its direct predecessor, the 13700K, is possibly due to the fact that the processor comes with an additional E-Core, bringing the total number of cores for its up to 20-Cores and 28-threads. That’s eight P-Cores and 12 E-Cores in total.

Again, this is only a glimpse of what is expected to be Raptor Lake refresh, meaning that if these numbers from the Core i7-14700K are the sort of performance and gains we can expect, Intel may have tough time convincing folks to jump over from its 12th or 13th Gen lineup to this one. Here’s to hoping 14th Gen will be at least significantly more powerful.
