OPPO Malaysia has confirmed that its first clamshell foldable, the Find N2 Flip, will be getting a local release soon. The company promoted the upcoming regional launch of the phone on its Twitter page, saying that the Flip is coming to Malaysia and linking to the Singapore launch event that will be taking place on 2 March.

While the event is happening in our neighbouring country to the south, a page for the online live stream can be found on OPPO’s Malaysian website, which is another indication of the device coming to our borders sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, while the company has confirmed a Malaysian release is imminent, it has not given out an exact date yet, so we might have to wait a bit longer after the regional launch.

That being said, the wait might not take too long as OPPO might have accidentally leaked the local launch date. While the date has now been removed, we found last week that on the Google Form for Malaysian users to register their interest, it said that the phone will be available from 11 March.

Not only that, but the first 10 customers at selected stores to purchase the Find N2 Flip will receive a gift worth up to RM249. However, take this with a grain of salt as the removal of the launch date from the form might mean that OPPO possibly decided to change the schedule as well as the early bird perks.

A Malaysian release of the Flip isn’t surprising given that the smartphone was already spotted in SIRIM’s database last month, receiving local certification in early January. The foldable is expected to carry a premium price tag as it is already sold at CNY5,999 (~RM3,870) in China and GBP849 (~RM4,525) in the UK, putting it in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4.
