Alongside the new 80 GT phone, HONOR has also revealed the company’s latest wearable for this year, the Band 7. The successor to the Band 6, the new smart band seems very similar to last year’s model in terms of specs and design, lacking any significant upgrades.

The HONOR Band 7 sports the same large 1.47-inch rectangular AMOLED touch display that is slightly curved with 2.5D curved glass protection. Just like the previous version, it comes with a single physical button on the side to access the menu and act as a back button.

The wearable is rated as waterproofed up to 5ATM, with HONOR saying that you can go in shallow waters as well as shower with it, but not diving and surfing. Of course, it comes with all the usual tracking features, including all-weather blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and 96 sports modes to track all your physical activities.

The battery life of the HONOR Band 7 is rated for up to 14 days with typical use and up to 10 days with heavy usage, which is the same as the battery life on the Band 6. It has Bluetooth 5.0 with support for low-power Bluetooth and unfortunately, it does not have built-in GPS so users will have to keep it connected to a phone in order to track their running routes.

The device runs on its own operating system by HONOR and is compatible with both Android and iOS with payment support, music playback controls, and the ability to be used as a remote control shutter button. Equipped with a silicone strap, the Band 7 comes in three colourways to choose from: cedar green, magic night black, and rose powder.

The HONOR Band 7 will go on sale in China on 6 January with a price tag of CNY249 (~RM158), but pre-orders have already opened up at a discount price of CNY199 (~RM126). The company has not announced a release date for other markets yet.
