AirAsia is ramping up flights to India by reinstating additional routes to six Indian destinations, namely Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, and Tiruchirappalli. This is in addition to the New Delhi route recently resumed by its long haul arm, AirAsia X.

To celebrate Malaysia’s border reopening, the company is offering a total of 30 weekly flights to India launching in April and May while the Bengaluru route is already in operation. The airline also said that there will eventually be a total of 71 weekly flights from Malaysia to India by the end of 2022.

From today until 1 May, users can enjoy a 20% discount on their fares to all Indian destinations along with complimentary 20kg check-in baggage allowance. The travel period for the promo bookings is between 1 May 2022 and 25 March 2023 but that being said, you should check the travel requirements first before purchasing your ticket.

Aside from New Delhi, AirAsia X has also resumed flights to Incheon, South Korea, and Sydney Australia. In general, the company is rapidly adding more international and domestic routes as tourism in the country resumes. AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat said the airline is planning to reinstate more routes to Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand.
