A number of popular global sites including Reddit, Spotify, Twitch, Stack Overflow, GitHub, gov.uk, Hulu, HBO Max, Quora, PayPal, Vimeo and Shopifyare are currently facing an outage due to an issue with popular CDN provider Fastly, Fastly has confirmed it’s facing an outage on its status website.
Major online media publications like the BBC, New York Times, Financial Times, CNN, The Guardian and many more are also currently down due to the outage.
Update at 7:02 PM: Affected websites are now slowly recovering. Fastly has communicated via their status page that they have identified and rectified the issue – but has yet to disclose any details that led to the 1 hour long outage.
