Alleged Intel Core i9-11900K Benchmarks Leak; Better Single-Core Performance Than AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

Intel’s CES 2021 keynote is just days away, but as rumours and leaks go, there’s just no stopping them, not even this close to an official event. On that note, the most recent product leak revolves around the performance of it upcoming enthusiast-grade 11th Generation CPU, the Core i9-11900K.

The source comes by way of a Chinese YouTuber by the name of ChaoWanKe and if we’re honest, it’s less of a leak and more a full-blown, yet very quick look at the Core i9-11900K’s prowess. Speaking which, the benchmarks that ChaoWanKe used was CPU-Z and Cinebench R20. Moreover, he’s comparing the CPU with Intel’s last-generation flagship, the Core i9-1099KF, and AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900X

One rumour that is put to rest with the 11900K is that the CPU does indeed feature two cores less than the 10900KF. As you would expect, the multi-core performance in both benchmarks are visibly lower, but what is surprising is that Intel seems to have improved its single-core performance across the board.

In Cinebench R20, the 11900K outpaces the 5900X ever so slightly by seven points, but takes the lead with 708 points in CPU-Z. That’s the highest we’ve seen in a consumer-ready CPU.

As for gaming, the results were clearly less than appealing, but there was a relatively good reason for that. ChaoWanKe revealed that the mainboard he used was a sort of experimental Z590, and for reasons unknown, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti plugged in to the system was not registering as PCIe 3.0 16x, but PCIe 1.1 16x, which is obviously worse. It’s a given Intel will work it out

The gaming portion aside, this is effectively the closest and most detailed look at the alleged Core i9-11900K’s performance that we’ve seen, to date. You can check out the video we’ve embedded in this article, but do note that it is in Chinese and the video’s subtitles aren’t quite up to par on the translation.
