It’s the last day of the year, and thus the last free game to claim from the Epic Games Store. And the game in question is Torchlight II.
If you like dungeon crawler ARPGs, then Torchlight II should need no introduction. But if you’re unfamiliar, think of it as Diablo, but made by Runic Games instead of Blizzard. As such, it features a lot of the same kind of elements as you’d expect from a game of the genre. This includes P2P multiplayer, four classes to choose from, and randomly generated dungeons.
As far as the plot goes, it is set in the same world as the first game. But you don’t have to have played it to understand what’s going on with Torchlight II. This time, the story has the Alchemist, one of the playable characters in the first game, go insane and destroys the town of Torchlight. And you’ll have to use one of the newer characters to defeat him.
