Another day, another free game is made available on the Epic Games Store. At least, until the end of the month. And today, that free game is Night in the Woods.
Released back in 2017, Night in the Woods is a pretty simple 2D side-scrolling adventure game with quite the story to it. You play as Mae, a college dropout, as she returns to her hometown of Possom Springs. The town is inhabited by other zoomorphic people like Mae, among whom are her friends that she will spend time with throughout the game.
Night in the Woods has s greater focus on its narrative than its gameplay. As such, it’s probably one to get if you’re in the mood for more story and less frantic button pressing. There’s also a major element of social commentary in its story as well, pertaining to the working and middle class.
As before, you can get Night in the Woods from the Epic Games Store before midnight of today. The next game that will be free on the store should be Stranded Deep, at least according to the previous leak. But as it has been accurate so far, it’s quite likely to be the case.
