Cyberpunk 2077 is nearly at our doorstep, barring any further last-minute and unannounced delays by its studio, CD Projekt Red (CDPR). In conjunction with the game’s 10 December launch, the studio has one more giveaway for the fans: a Cyberpunk 2077-themed NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition card.
Before you get your hopes up, there are a some things that you need know about this giveaway contest. First, you will need to have an official Weibo account. That brings us to the second, and probably the most disappointing part about this contest: as far as we know, the giveaway seems to only be limited within China. On that note, the contest was posted on the Chinese social media platform, BiliBili.
On another note, it is also worth noting that the card itself isn’t a limited edition variant of NVIDIA’s Ampere-based GPU, but rather, it’s simply a custom skin. Etched on to the card by a modder.
This isn’t the first time a Cyberpunk 2077-theme GeForce card has appeared in the spotlight. Earlier this year and long before the launch of the GeForce RTX 30 series cards, NVIDIA was giving away 200 units of special edition GeForce RTX 2080 Ti cards, fully dressed in Cyberpunk 2077’s iconic neon yellow and digital overflow design.
Needless to say, NVIDIA’s hardware has improved since then, with its latest Ampere-powered cards being a core prerequisite, especially if you’re planning on playing the game with the ray-tracing feature cranked to its highest preset.
