Classic Metal Gear Titles Make Their Way To GOG

These days, the only Metal Gear game that you can easily get on PC is MGSV: The Phantom Pain on Steam. If you wanted to play the earlier games in the series, you would’ve been out of luck. Until recently that is, as Konami has put a number of classics from the series on GOG.

Now, you can get the very first Metal Gear, as well as MGS 1 and 2 off of GOG. These are not new releases though, for those who remember seeing these games on PC all the way back in the early 2000s. This means they come with all the bugs from all the way back in the day.

Classic @Konami titles now on GOG! 💜#MetalGear, #MetalGearSolid & Metal Gear Solid 2 redefined the stealth genre – a must-play for any Metal Gear fan.

KONAMI Collector's Series: Castlevania & Contra, with 5 games, is a real treat for retro gamers!

There’s also no denying that they look very dated, maybe with the exception of Metal Gear Solid 2. But there’s no avoiding that considering the age of the games. Unless of course Konami comes out and announces a remake, but the way that company is now, it’s very unlikely.

As for their price, you’re looking at US$5.99, (~RM25) US$9.99 (~RM42) and US$9.99, for Metal Gear, MGS 1 and 2, respectively. If this series is not your kind of thing, there’s also Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra. This one is technically five games in one, featuring Castlevania 1, 2 and 3, as well as Contra and Super C.
