Late last month, a video of a new LG device, codenamed Wing, emerged, showing of an interesting form factor. Now, the company has confirmed that the device will indeed be called the LG Wing. The company also confirmed that the device will be the first device under its Explorer Project.
LG previously announced that it will reveal more about its plans for Project Explorer on 14 September. Now, the company also confirms that the LG Wing will also be making an appearance on the same date. That being said, the company did not hint at the reveal of anything else during the event.
The company explained a little about what its Explorer Project is all about earlier in the month. To quickly recap, it’s essentially LG’s initiative, and a device category, that makes use of new usability and innovative designs. This line will also diverge from the Universal Line, which will have more conventional looking devices like the LG Velvet.
This simple name confirmation feels like a teaser for LG’s official announcement of its Explorer Project. It looks like the company is keeping other details for the actual event. It’s pretty safe to expect the official specs of the LG Wing, but it remains to be seen if the company has anything else under wraps.
