AirAsia has announced that its AirAsia Virtual Allstar (AVA) service is now accessible via WhatsApp. The artificial intelligence (AI) powered chatbot was initially introduced for the airline’s official website and app to help with customer inquiries regarding flights and other services.
“Our Virtual Allstar AVA offers a high standard of customer service via artificial intelligence,” stated group chief customer happiness officer Adam Geneave. “AVA already handles millions of cases annually across other platforms such as Facebook, our app and airasia.com so it makes absolute sense to make her available on WhatsApp where there are more than two billion users worldwide.”
He added that AVA currently handles more than 80-percent of customer cases, while the remainder are transferred to a Live Agent who assists directly. AirAsia stated that the virtual chatbot is also able to converse with customers instantly in eleven languages including English, Bahasa Malaysia, Thai, Vietnamese, and much more.
