We originally had an encounter with the gaming laptop back in January but it is only tonight that ASUS is launching the ROG Zephyrus G14 in Malaysia. The model is the latest addition into ASUS Malaysia’s AMD Ryzen 4000 series laptop line-up which also include the VivoBook S14 as well as TUF Gaming A15 and A17.
The unit that we have tested is equipped with AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS processor alongside NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q graphics. It also carries 1TB PCIe NVMe solid state drive and 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM alongside a Full HD 120Hz panel for its 14-inch display.
Aside from its hardware package, another main attraction of the Zephyrus G14 is the programmable AniMe Matrix LED installation on its lid. This particular feature made it stand out among many gaming laptops out there that usually utilized RGB lighting as part of its aesthetic.
We were previously informed by ASUS representative that the 120Hz Full HD variant that we have reviewed might not be available in Malaysia. Then again, the keyword here is “MIGHT” as we have begun to hear some whispers of last-minute changes from industry sources. So, stay tuned for more details later tonight.
