Raja Koduri Brandishes Alleged Intel Xe GPU As “Big Fabulous Package”

At this point in time, leaks and rumours of Intel’s Xe graphics architecture have already made its rounds, with one of the chief offenders being none other than Raja Koduri, Intel’s Chief Architect for the GPU. On that note, it looks like Koduri is at it again, if his latest Twitter image is anything to go by.

Koduri’s tweet essentially shows what appears to be three different Xe-based components, along with an AA battery on the side as a size comparison and the words “Big Fabulous Package”. Based on the image, it’s being surmised that the product on the left is the Xe-HP that has been described as the “high-end but not quite HPC” GPU.

The highlight of the image, though, is a massive looking chip at the bottom right; this is probably the “Big Fabulous Package” that Koduri is referencing. Little is known about this alleged GPU, but Videocardz is speculating that this is the first look at Intel’s Xe-HPC Arctic Sound GPU.

That leaves the third component at the top right of the picture; some believe that this chip is most probably DG1 or DG2 Xe GPU that are expected to be distributed to the masses and OEMs. To put it simply, this is the Xe GPU that is expected to go toe-to-toe with both AMD’s and NVIDIA’s current GPU offerings.

Beyond that, Koduri’s tweet lacks any further information, not even performance numbers. On that note, Ryan Shrout, Chief Performance Strategist at Intel, did post a short video of a notebook powered by his brand’s upcoming Tiger Lake CPU. Running Battlefield V at 30fps and on high graphics settings, thus giving us a glimpse at the legs of the processor’s integrated Xe GPU.

In any case, there’s still no official details from Intel, so thread carefully around the rumours surrounding it.
