There’s Going to Be a New Tiger King Documentary Coming Out Soon

Sometimes, it’s easy to predict if a film/series is going to trend on Netflix, like in the case of Fifty Shades Freed. But I don’t think many anticipated the massive amount of hype Tiger King has been getting. Tiger King is a documentary mini-series that centres around Joe King, a former zoo operator who in 2019 was convicted of animal abuse and — get this — MURDER FOR HIRE, for the plot to kill the CEO of Big Cat Rescue. The docu-series has been trending on Netflix all over the world, including here in Malaysia.

Guess what? It looks like other Networks have jumped on the Joe King bandwagon as well. Fox will be releasing a documentary by TMZ that centres around Joe King as well. Per THR:

The hourlong special, titled TMZ Investigates: Tiger King — What Really Went Down?, will feature TMZ head Harvey Levin, interviews with people connected to the case of Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, and “never-before-seen footage.” It is set to air Monday.

Fox and TMZ will be exploring some unanswered questions from Netflix’s Tiger King docuseries. It will reportedly answer if the central figure, Joe Exotic is really guilty of the murder-for-hire plot as well as take a deep dive into the mysterious disappearance of Big Cat Rescue’s CEO, Carole Baskin’s former husband.

Look, Fox and TMZ aren’t exactly the gold standard of journalism (I mean just look at Fox’s coverage of everything that’s going on in America right now), but Joe King is such an intriguing figure that I can’t wait to check out their documentary as well. We still haven’t gotten word if the documentary will be made available in Malaysia on Astro, but we will keep you up to date on that when we receive more information. In the meantime, if you haven’t checked out Tiger King on Netflix, please do yourself a favour and do it.
