It’s Christmas Eve, and Santa Claus is making his annual run around the world delivering presents to well-behaved children. And Google’s Santa Tracker is the tool for you to keep track of his progress. If you’re into that sort of thing, that is.
Of course, the Santa Tracker is not just some imaginary geriatric stalker tool. There are a number of Santa-themed games that you can play, and some videos to watch. Some of which are a lot more educational than you’d expect, with one being like a very rudimentary coding class, and another on the benefits of having good passwords. You can also looks at some pictures of the places Santa visited. There’s also a small card called Santa Stats, that will tell you the distance Santa is from your location, and his ETA.
It’s not exactly a new thing, as according to 9to5Google, the Santa Tracker made its first appearance back in 2004. Some of Google’s employees thought it would be a good idea to give people a visual representation of “exactly where Santa was on Christmas Eve”.
The Santa Tracker has its own website, as well as its own dedicated Android app.
