Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has recently shared more details on the Level Up KL 2019 event. As reported earlier, this year’s edition of the event is going to be a little different compared to the ones that came before.

The fifth instalment of Level Up KL 2019 will have two different parts to it. Level Up KL Biz will be focusing on the game development side, running from 2 November to 8 November. On the other hand, Level Up KL Play will be open to the public and will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 9 and 10 November.

Level Up KL Play will be a gaming exhibition for the masses. At the event itself, you can experience different sectors of the gaming industry, including career paths and eSports tournaments. Also, developers will also be exhibiting their games such as Re:Legend, Bake’n Switch and Malaysia’s animated movie, Ejen Ali’s standalone game.

On the eSports side, Level Up KL Play will host tournaments for games on different platforms. For example, the mobile division shall feature Mobile Legends and PUBG Mobile while Tekken 7 and PES 2019 will be running on consoles. On the PC side, the Malaysia Grand Finals for the Predator League features Dota 2 and PUBG.

Speaking of eSports, we should not be forgetting that Malaysia will be sending our national eSports athletes for the upcoming SEA Games 2019 in Manila. There will also be a flag-off ceremony by Syed Saddiq, the Minister of Sports and Youth for our athletes at the event as well.

As the event schedule indicates, the Video Game Orchestra (VGO)’s first performance in Malaysia will be at LEVEL UP KL Play, on 9 November. Tickets are now available from RM108 for the general ticket while the Meet and Greet pass will come at the price of RM228. The VGO tickets can be found here.

Moving on, Level Up KL Biz will remain as a game developer conference, featuring programs such as Masterclass workshops for games development and exhibitions. The developers’ event will run a conference for game production during the final days of the event, on 7 and 8 November. The conference will be featuring notable speakers, such as Danny Koo, the senior producer for Marvel Games and Ashnil Dixit from Google.

As a part of the game developers gathering, LEVEL UP announced a SEA Game Jam. The program itself will challenge a legion of South-East Asian game developers to make a game in just 36 hours. Additionally, Level Up KL Biz will also be hosting the SEA Games Awards.

The tickets for both LEVEL UP events are now currently available. If you are interested in attending Level Up KL Play, the early bird tickets can be purchased now at a price of RM20 (excluding RM2 processing fee) for both days. Onsite tickets will cost RM10 for each day.

As for the Level  Up KL Biz, the tickets will cost RM1000 for early birds, with the normal tickets costing RM2000. If you are looking to attend the conference only, early bird tickets cost RM400 as the normal tickets come at the price of RM800.
