Spotify has unveiled a new version of its app called Spotify Lite which is primarily designed for older or lower end devices that has less firepower as compared to newer models. At the same time, it is also designed to use less bandwidth so that users can still enjoy their music even though their network is slow.

For starters, the Spotify Lite has a file size of only 10MB which should make faster to download and install on one’s phone. Users can also set a data limit on the app and it will notify them once their data consumption reached the set limit.

Meanwhile, the rollout of Spotify Lite doesn’t mean that it will take over the existing Spotify app. In fact, the music company stated that both apps will co-exists together, so that users can choose whichever version that best suits their devices.

Available immediately in 36 countries throughout the world including Malaysia, Spotify Lite can only be obtained for Android at the time being. To download it, just head on to Google Play.
