Axiata Group and Digi.com have suspended their shares from trading on Bursa Malaysia this morning. This follows a report on The Edge Financial Daily which claims that Axiata and Telenor are planning to merge their operations across Asia.
Both companies are expected to make an announcement later today. Axiata Group is the parent company of Celcom while Norway based Telenor Group is the parent company of Digi.
Axiata representatives have since confirmed that they will be making a “significant announcement” at 4pm later today.
