Apple is recalling a specific three-prong AC wall plug adapter due to a risk of electrical shock. While it is primarily designed for United Kingdom, Singapore, and Hong Kong, we believe that there is a possibility that this wall plug adapter is in use in Malaysia too given the similarities between our electrical system and the three countries mentioned earlier.
According to Apple, the affected wall plug adapter may break in rare cases and the exposed metal parts within it could cause electrical shock when touched. Here is how the affected plug looks like as compared to the newer model:
The company also stated that this particular wall plug adapter was shipped from 2003 to 2010 with Mac and iOS devices. Alternatively, it can also be obtained as part of Apple World Travel Adapter Kit.
