TGV today has officially launched its latest cinema at the equally new Central i-City shopping mall in Shah Alam. Being the latest location for the company, it is not surprising that TGV has implemented quite a number of interesting attraction at the cinema including a hall with Samsung Onyx Cinema LED screen.
While it might not be the first cinema to feature such screen in Malaysia but nevertheless, the installation at TGV Central i-City is currently the largest in the country. Not only that, it is also the largest Onyx Cinema LED screen in the world due to its 14-meter footprint.
With support for 4K contents, the DCI-compliant screen also has a peak brightness of 146fL which is around 10 times the brightness of a standard cinema projector. Paired together with JBL Sculpted Surround sound system from Harman Professional, it also apparently able to deliver vibrant colour output thanks to its support for HDR contents.
Additionally, the Samsung Onyx cinema hall at TGV Central i-City is also equipped with premium, adjustable Auto Glide reclining chairs. In terms of pricing, our quick check showed that Avengers: Endgame is priced at RM 22 per person which is RM 4 more than the ticket price for the same movie at the cinema’s Deluxe hall.
