Talk about jumping the gun. It appears that local retailer TechHypermart has listed down three of MSI’s gaming notebooks featuring NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1660 Ti discrete GPU. Specifically, the page lists two different notebook models; one of which comes in two variants.
The models in question are the GL63 and GL73, and it’s the former that seems to have two SKUs. Both of them are retailing at discounted prices of RM5799 and RM6039, respectively.
However, it should be pointed out that – despite the price difference – both variants seem to share identical hardware. That includes the Intel Core i7-8750H CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD, 1TB HDD storage, and the same GTX 1660 Ti. In fact, the only difference between them seems to be the number of USB Type-A ports each variant has, as well as the presence of a mini DisplayPort in one of them.
The GL73 also shares identical hardware to the GL63, with its main difference being its 17.3-inch Full HD display. Price-wise, the notebook’s original price is listed at RM6299, but TechHypermart is offering a discount of RM280, bringing the price down to RM6019.
TechHypermart’s offer for the notebooks was still live at the time of writing. So, if you’re looking towards owning the notebook, you’d best move fast as there’s no telling when or if MSI will make the retailer take down the listing.
