Not to be confused with one of the original first generation ZenFone models back in 2014, ASUS has finally revealed the official launch date for the 2019 ZenFone 6. However, the company has chosen a rather interesting way to reveal the date.
The launch date was shown in an advertisement inside the Official Show Preview for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 by Mobile World Live which is a publication owned by GSMA, the people behind MWC. We’ve obtained this particular copy of the newspaper when we picked up our MWC press pass at Barcelona El-Prat Airport.
Scheduled to take place on 14 May, the ad also stated that the launch event will take place at Valencia, Spain. We have checked the company’s global Facebook page as well as its Twitter account to search any references to ZenFone 6 for the past two months but didn’t find any of them.
Hence, the ad could be one of the first official appearances for the details regarding ZenFone 6’s launch event. This could also mean that ASUS’ mobile division might not be making any major announcement at MWC 2019 aside from the ZenFone 6’s launch date.
That being said, we are still a few days away before MWC opens its doors. We’ll keep you posted if ASUS has other things to reveal here in Barcelona.
