AirAsia just unveiled a new facelift, both for its website and app. The new AirAsia app and website now features tighter integration with other arms in the AirAsia group like BigPay and Travel360. AirAsia also unveiled AirAsia Virtual Allstar (AVA) – an AI chatbot capable of conversing with customers.

AVA (AirAsia Virtual AllStar) is AirAsia’s chatbot, developed by Ada from Toronto, Canada. With support for multiple languages (English, Bahasa Malaysia, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Korean, Traditional & Simplified Chinese), it uses AI to answer questions asked by customers – both on the website and the new app.

The new app and website facelift was designed for easier guest navigation around the AirAsia ecosystem. The app is already available for both iOS and Android.

For iOS users, the app features extra functionalities such as a new interactive flight search, combined station picker and Siri integration. Users can open up the map in the iOS app and pick two points on the map without remembering airport codes, which is a first among airline apps.

No timeline was shared as to when the same functionality would arrive for Android, but the airline carrier did say development for the map feature is underway for the both the Android version and mobile website.

Other features includes FACES integration and a built-in Low Fare Calendar. The app also now features tighter integration with BigPay, AirAsia’s digital financial service, as well as other digital arms such as AirAsiaGo and Travel360.com.

In conjunction with the revamp, AirAsia mobile app users will be able to enjoy a discount of 19% for bookings made through the app made between 28 January and 3 February. This is for travels between 1 August and 30 November 2019. Simply use the code MOBILE19.
