Acer certainly has a lot of products on its hands at IFA 2018. Alongside Predator X, Predator Thronos, and Predator Triton 900, the company also has announced the availability of Swfit 5 with a 15-inch display which the company claimed as the lightest 15-inch notebook in the world.
Weighing at a mere 990 grams, this particular notebook was originally announced at the company’s previous Global Press Conference (GPC) in New York several months ago. Equipped with 15-inch Full HD touch display, the laptop can be obtained with up to Intel Core i7-8565U which was newly announced earlier this week, 16GB RAM, and 512GB NVMe solid state drive.
Originally, it was supposed to be released within Q4 2018 and this still holds true for selected markets such as EMEA and China who will receive it in November. However, it will only be available in North America starting from January 2019 onwards.
Price-wise, the notebook will be available from EU 1099 (about RM 5282) and CNY 7499 (about RM 4512) in EMEA and China respectively. In North America, its price will start from USD 1099 (about RM 4519). With that, we might be looking at between RM 4500 to RM 5500 if Acer decides to release it in our market.
However, Acer has yet to reveal the availability and pricing for Swift 5 with 15-inch display in Malaysia. We’ll keep you informed once we heard more from the company but for the meantime, do check out our initial hands-on experience with the notebook right here.
