It’s been a while since we’ve heard about the HTC U12+’s local availability. Planned to be launched in Malaysia two months ago, it appears HTC Malaysia is finally ready to take pre-orders for its latest flagship smartphone. With pre-orders starting from 17 August, the U12+ will retail at RM3,499 in Malaysia.
To sweeten the deal, those who place their pre-order between 17 to 23 August will also receive a “pre-order box.” Said to be worth over RM250, the box includes a leather pouch, 10,000mAh power bank, travel kit, notebook, lanyard, and phone stand. Interestingly enough, “Cryptokitties” – a blockchain-based mobile game – will also be included in the phone’s next software update.
Although pre-orders for the U12+ will only start tomorrow, you can already get the phone right now on 11street. Posted by 2GO Store, the listing only shows the Translucent Blue model. It remains to be seen if HTC Malaysia will bring in other colours of the phone.
Hardware-wise, the U12+ is a capable flagship smartphone. It features a 6-inch QHD+ Super LCD 6 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and a 3,500mAh battery. In the camera department, it sports a 12MP + 16MP UltraPixel 4 dual-camera system, and two 8MP shooters on the front.
The HTC U12+ will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 17 to 23 August on 11street, Lazada, as well as Shopee for RM3,499. Expect our review of the U12+ to be posted in the very near future!
