The vivo Nex is one of the first smartphones with a “truly bezel-less” design, and it’s really arguably the Chinese company’s most impressive flagship yet. If you’ve been eyeing to get it, good news: the Nex will be coming to Malaysia sometime in the third quarter of 2018.
Of course, this confirmation comes directly from vivo Malaysia. The company also started teasing the arrival of the Nex on its Facebook page, although vivo did not give any specific launch date for the flagship phone.
In terms of hardware, the vivo Nex is naturally equipped with some high-end hardware. These include a 6.59-inch Full HD+ OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM, a generous 256GB internal storage, as well as a 4,000mAh battery.
One of the most impressive features of the Nex is definitely its motorised, pop-up selfie camera – a rather ingenious solution to avoid having a notched display. Once you’ve activated the selfie camera, the camera module will pop-up to reveal an 8MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The dual-camera system on the back, on the other hand, is made up of 12MP and 5MP sensors.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a proper flagship from vivo enter Malaysia, so it’s quite refreshing to see the vivo Nex arriving on our shores. Hopefully, it will be available here in early Q3 2018.
