Sony is having a very good 2018, with yet another PlayStation 4 exclusive title becoming a smash hit. God Of War has been officially announced as its fastest selling game. Breaking the three million copies sold mark in only three days.
According to Sony Interactive Entertainment God of War sold over 3.1 million copies between 20 – 22 April. This is an impressive achievement for the company as the game is only available for the PlayStation 4 platform. It could be likely that the title’s eight-year hiatus resulted in an excitement for fans of the title to play the characters again. Or it could just be the positive word of mouth and critical acclaim that God Of War received.
The head of Sony Santa Monica Studio, Shannon Studstill, shared a commemorative message saying “I would like to personally thank the millions of fans around the world who decided to hop on Kratos’ latest adventure with us. Your support is truly inspiring.”
Uncharted 4 is currently the bestselling PS4 exclusives with over 8.7 million copies sold followed by Horizon Zero Dawn with 7.6 million copies. Expect God of War to catch up to the numbers of the two titles quickly.
