honor has been pretty active in Malaysia lately. After bringing in the honor 7X and the flagship honor View 10 into our local market, it seems like the Chinese company is preparing to launch yet another affordable smartphone on our shores. Chances are, honor is preparing to introduce the honor 9 Lite here.
Looking at honor Malaysia’s teaser on its Facebook page, the mysterious smartphone is very likely the honor 9 Lite. For one, the number nine in the “E9ually Beautiful” tagline is a pretty good sign. Aside from that, the 9 Lite also comes with four cameras, which is in line with the four rings shown in the image.
Although the honor 9 Lite resembles the honor 7X quite a bit at a glance, there are some notable differences. For one, the 9 Lite comes with a smaller 5.65-inch Full HD+ 2160 x 1080 FullView Display with minimal bezels. Aside from that, it also sports a glass and metal construction – the 7X comes with an all-metal chassis instead.
Other specifications of the 9 Lite include a HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM, two choices of expandable storage (32GB or 64GB), 13MP + 2MP rear cameras, 13MP + 2MP front-facing shooters, and a 3,000mAh battery. On top of that, it also ships with EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Whether or not honor Malaysia is indeed bringing in the honor 9 Lite still remains to be seen, although we’re quite optimistic the phone maker is doing so. After all, the device has already been registered with SIRIM for quite some time now.
