HTC U11+ Launching in Malaysia on 11 January 2018

Previously, HTC Malaysia was targeting for a December launch for its latest flagship, the HTC U11+. Well, it appears plans have changed – we just got word from Brightstar that the device will be launched here on 11 January 2018 instead.

Considering the fact that the U11+ was officially announced only a couple of months ago, a January launch isn’t too bad in retrospect. Of course, it would’ve been better if it was made available this month instead, but there’s a chance the unique Translucent Black colourway will be launched locally too – it’s expected to be available from January 2018 onwards.

In comparison to the HTC U11, the U11+ brings some meaningful improvements. The most immediate difference is obviously the sleeker-looking 6-inch 1440p 18:9 Super LCD display with minimal bezels, giving it a more modern design. Aside from that, it also has a much more generous 3,930mAh battery in comparison to the U11’s rather average 3,000mAh cell.

Other specifications of the U11+ include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM, two choices of expandable storage (64GB or 128GB), 12MP UltraPixel 3 rear and 8MP front-facing cameras, BoomSound audio, and an IP68 rating.

The HTC U11+ will be launched in Malaysia next month on 11 January 2018 – hopefully, it will be priced competitively. After all, it will inevitably be compared to 2018 flagships.
