A whole bunch of 18:9 smartphones are arriving in Malaysia, and the latest entry is one from Asus with the Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1). Retailing at only RM899, this is quite an affordable smartphone with very promising battery life.

One of the highlight features of the ZenFone Max Plus is definitely the 5.7-inch 720p 18:9 display with tiny bezels, making it Asus’ first smartphone with such a display. Aside from that, the Max Plus also has a very generous 4,130mAh battery. Chances are, it should have very good battery life – it’s the Max series’ signature feature, after all.

Aside from that, the ZenFone Max Plus also comes with a MediaTek MT6750T processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a rear fingerprint sensor, and a metal chassis.

Like many smartphones in the market now, the ZenFone Max Plus features a dual-camera system on the back too. The primary 16MP f/2.0 camera is paired with an 8MP wide-angle shooter, while the front-facing shooter is a 16MP f/2.0 camera.

The Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1) will be arriving in Malaysia from 20 December onwards for RM899. From 14 to 19 December, those who pre-order the phone on Lazada will also receive a RM200 discount voucher – this effectively cuts down the price to only RM699. Alternatively, buyers can also trade-in any phone – in working or non-working condition –  at participating retail outlets to receive the RM200 discount.
