Biostar has announced a new addition to its SSD family. Dubbed as S150 series SSDs, Biostar’s newest lineup of SSDs will not only bring better value for money, but also come with higher performance compared to their predecessors. Currently, S150 series SSD only contains one storage variant: 120GB.
According to sources, Biostar’s S150 series SSDs are introduced as a “replacement” for the company’s older S100 series SSDs. SSDs under the S150 family will, as expected, feature higher read and write speeds (sequential) along with a slimmer body (6.8mm). To be more specific, Biostar has claimed that its 120GB S150 SSD is capable of transfer speeds of up to 500MBps.
Speaking of which, when it comes to design, the Biostar 120GB S150 series SSD comes in an all black chassis… and that’s it really. Then again, it’s worth remembering that SSDs do, most of the time, feature rather uninspiring designs; which isn’t necessarily bad. That aside, other key details like the type of NAND flash used and 4K random transfer speeds were not mentioned by Biostar.
Likewise, local pricing and date of availability was not stated either. It’s not known whether Biostar will be bringing its S150 SSDs to Malaysia.
