Bandai will be rolling out a new Tamagotchi game on mobile next year. Named Tamagotchi Forever, it will be free-to-play on iOS and Android, with all the classic mechanics intact.
Players will have to keep the virtual pet alive by feeding, cleaning, and playing with it. There are new features for the game however. Firstly, pets now live in Tamatown, where it can interact with others on the server.
Bandai is even throwing in Augmented Reality (AR) components into the mix as players can capture moments and share it on social media networks. There will be a mini game component where your virtual pets can gain virtual currency to unlock items in Tamatown. This includes costumes, decorative items and even special food for the pets.
If you head to the official website and register your interest, you will be in the running to be chosen by Bandai to create a new character for the game.
