Samsung Malaysia has pledged to provide free repair services for all Samsung-branded appliances and mobile devices damaged in the recent Penang and Kedah floods. Those affected by the natural disaster can contact their nearest Samsung service centre for more information, or to set up a home visit.
Appliances that are difficult to move, such as washing machines and refrigerators, will need to be first inspected by an authorised Samsung technician. Arranging for this to happen can be done by calling the Samsung careline at 1800-88-9999. Keep in mind that this is only for larger appliances that cannot simply be carried over to the service centres.
Other smaller appliances and mobile devices can be brought to any Samsung service centre in Penang or Kedah for inspection and repair. Mobile device owners are asked to first back up any data if possible, as Samsung will not be responsible for the loss of any information after the repair.
Those affected who wish to take Samsung up on this offer can get more information by calling 1800-22-8899 (For mobile devices) or 1800-88-9999 (For other products).
According to Samsung, this offer only covers the following areas:
