(UPDATE – 14 Sept, 1130AM): Xiaomi Malaysia has announced pre-order details for Mi A1. Learn more below.
Ahead of its release in our market which is scheduled to take place towards end of September, Xiaomi Malaysia today has revealed that it will be announcing the brand-new Mi A1 this week. However, the exact nature and date of the announcement is not yet known at the moment.
Specifically, we have no idea what will Xiaomi Malaysia will unveil during that announcement or even when exactly it will take place. At this moment, it could be anything: pre-order period, pre-order freebies, release date, price, and many other possible information.
Speaking about pricing though, we have noticed a small number of retailers have begun to take pre-order for the new Android One smartphone. For example, this retailer in Kluang, Johor is accepting orders from customers for RM 1,199.
However, it then decided to remove the original announcement for unknown reason. We also found a listing on Lazada Malaysia which looks quite legit but with a lower pricing of RM 1,099. (UPDATE: Listing has been removed.)
Meanwhile, the well-known retailer DirectD which is usually in the forefront of pre-order didn’t reveal its Mi A1’s pricing even though it will be taking pre-order for the smartphone very soon. Satu Gadget also didn’t reveal its Mi A1’s price tag as well but already accepting pre-orders with deposit of RM 100.
With all the signs above, it is almost certain that the Mi A1 will arrive in Malaysia within this month just like what Xiaomi has promised during its launch in New Delhi last week. Xiaomi Malaysia has announced that the official pre-order will begin on this coming Saturday, 16 September. It can done through several location as listed in the announcement below:
However, Xiaomi didn’t announce the pricing though and stated that it will be revealed during the pre-order time itself.
