The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) recently launched First Aid Red Crescent app – a first aid app – in Malaysia. Launched with support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the app provides information on everyday first aid scenarios, which may prove to be lifesaving.
Touted as the first app of its kind in Malaysia, the First Aid Red Crescent app mainly offers tips on how to respond to emergencies. These include emergency first aid information for asthma attacks, broken bones, burns, and many more.
Interestingly, the First Aid Red Crescent app gives first aid advice in the form of videos, animations, and even interactive quizzes. After going through the app for a bit, we find the interactive quizzes surprisingly entertaining – it’s also very informative, of course.
Although the first aid app will certainly be helpful, the secretary general of the MRCS – Dato’ Sayed A. Rahman bin Sayed Mohd – noted that the app “in no way replaces proper first aid training and certification nor the need to seek medical advice where necessary.” Nonetheless, the app does provide very helpful tips and information.
The First Aid Red Crescent app is now available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Naturally, the app is available in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
