Disney released a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III at the D23 conference over the weekend. Fans will be able to look forward to a Toy Story world to adventure in when the game exits purgatory; which is apparently next year.
The release of Kingdom Hearts III has been as much of a joke as Half Life 3, seeing that the game was teased back in 2013. Development supposedly began as far back as 2006, shortly after the release of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix.
In the mean time, fans have been treated to releases like Kingdom Hearts 1.5, Kingdom Hearts 2.5, and Kingdom Hearts 2.8.
Of course, having a new trailer is no guarantee that the game will meet its 2018 deadline. After all, it hasn’t seen the light of day despite having multiple trailers. As far as we can tell, Square Enix is taking the Blizzard route with the franchise and the game will be done when it’s done.
