Digi has revealed that it is working to deliver premium subscription combo for iflix and Tonton to its customers very soon. While specific details are still under wraps at the moment, they will be similar in nature to what the telco has done with Viu.
Under its newly launched Freedom 2 Viu offerings, Digi customers are able to receive premium Viu subscription and 5GB data allocation to consume contents from the service for RM 5 per month. Through this offering, customers don’t need to purchase Viu’s premium subscription and Digi Video Freedom passes separately.
Meanwhile, both iflix and Tonton already have existing partnership with Digi as both services have already participated in the telco’s Video Freedom program. This enables Digi customers to consume contents from both services without affecting their main data quota as long as they purchased either 1-day or 1-hour Video Freedom pass.
Furthermore, certain Digi plans also comes with 60 days of free access to iflix. According to the Chief Marketing Officer of Digi, Loh Keh Jiat, customers can expect the new premium subscription combo for iflix and Tonton to be made available by end of July or early August. So, stay tuned then.
