This Is The Nubia Z17: Featuring Snapdragon 835 and 8GB RAM, Coming To Malaysia This August

Around three weeks ago, ZTE’s spin off brand Nubia has unveiled its flagship smartphone in China called Z17. Don’t let the spin off label fooled you though as the Z17 has been positioned as a premium flagship model which is not surprising given its processor: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

Of course, there are a lot of things that Nubia has packed into its new Z17 such as its rear dual camera system that is equipped with a combination of 12-megapixels and 23-megapixels with each of them are accompanied by a f/1.8 and f/2.0 lenses respectively. Not enough with that, the camera also comes 2x optical zoom and depth-of-field capabilities.

At the same time, the front camera of Z17 also features a 16-megapixels sensor which is two time the resolution of its previous flagship device, the Z11 which has just made its way into Malaysia. This particular camera also comes with f/2.0 5-elements wide angle lens.

Just like the Z11, the Z17 is also equipped with 5.5-inch full HD display complete with minimal bezels on its sides. While it has been touted to feature 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage, the smartphone can also be obtained as 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB variants in China.

Rounding up its general specifications is a 3,200mAh battery. Not to forget, the Z17 is also water-resistant although we are not sure if this is the main reason why the smartphone doesn’t come with a 3.5mm audio jack.

In conjunction with the official launch ceremony for Nubia in our market earlier today, the brand has actually brought the device into Malaysia. However, it was there only for display (we were not even allowed to hold the smartphone ourselves) at the Nubia’s on-going roadshow in Plaza Low Yat as the Z17 is expected to be available in Malaysia only in August 2017.
