Facebook is currently revamping its photo album, allowing you to save more than just pictures and videos. You can save practically anything under the new albums from text posts to check-ins, follow your friends’ albums, and even add friends to contribute to your album.
Facebook told TechCrunch that the new update allow users to easily collaborate and organise things like your recent holiday. “Gone on a surf trip recently? Share videos of you tacking your waves, your check-in at the pier, a photo of your board game and more – in a single album.” That’s not all, you can also set a “featured album” that will be displayed prominently on your profile.
With the new updated album, Facebook is differentiating itself from other similar products such as Google Photos, Snapchat, and even its own Instagram. On top of pictures and videos, you can organise bits and pieces of your daily life, and share them with friends involved in those activities.
According to TechCrunch, update is currently being to rolled out to Facebook on the web and on Android devices, with the iOS version “coming soon”.
