Since decades ago, users are able to make direct calls from Malaysia to Singapore on TM‘s telephone network by using 02 as the area code. However, a recent directive by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission will soon resulted in the discontinuation of the access code.
According to TM, customers will need to use 0065 as the access code instead when they need to make a direct call to Singapore using either its landline or IP-based telephony network. Below is how it works:
Aside from the new access code, TM has assure that the charges and call quality to Singapore will remain the same. Do note that the new 0065 access code will be in place starting from 16 May 2017 onwards.
