Meizu has been rather quiet since its last phone launch in Malaysia, which is the Meizu MX6 back in November 2016. However, it seems the company is ready to step back into the limelight with the arrival of the Meizu M5 on Gemfive.
In terms of hardware, the Meizu M5 has a 5.2-inch HD IPS screen and runs on a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core 1.5GHz processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. There’s also 16GB of internal storage and it supports expansion via microSD cards up to 256GB. In the camera department, the M5 sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP round the front.
As for software, Meizu’s M5 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and it’s powered by a non-removable 3,070mAh battery. It weighs a total of 138g and comes in two colour options – black and gold.
Distributed by Dynamics Distribution, the Meizu M5 is priced at RM599 and it comes with several free gifts including a RM20 Gemfive store credit (valid until 20 February), a 32GB Memory Card, an original casing, and a screen protector.
